Did you know…the US is the world’s largest manufacturing economy?


That’s right.

Everyone has long believed that the US is no where near the top of the list when it comes to ranking the world’s largest manufacturing economies. Here’s the actual breakdown:

1. United States (21%)

2. China (15%)

3. Japan (13%)

The top manufacturing economies within the US:

1. California – 1,280,900 manufacturing employment. $181,100,000,000 manufacturing output. Computer & electronics 36.2%, chemicals 22.9%, petrolium & coal 18.2%.

2. Texas – 840,000 manufacturing employment. $158,800,000,000 manufacturing output. Chemicals 42.2%, computer & electronics 19.2%, machinery 15.4%.

3. Ohio – 629,200 manufacturing employment. $84,100,000,000 manufacturing output. Motor vehicles & parts 12.6%, fabricated metal products 11.8%, chemicals 8.8%.
